begin to switch off toward the south going throughout the day as high pressure scoots off toward the east. i will break it down for you later but, we do have dry weather on tap for this morning and also as we go into the afternoon. that's why we have all five sweeps on scanning the skies on maryland's most powerful radar. but this is what to expect heading throughout the day. hour by hour, 8:00 this morning, cool coming in at 60. and 76 ample sunshine by lunchtime and that trend continues even as we head into the 3:00 time frame. i am going with 81 for today. so we will be a little bit warmer than we have been. let's check the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren cook. good morning you've been talking about the patchy fog and an accident out there. >> reporter: yes. here's the live look at frederick at interstate 70. a lot of reduced visibility in the area. just east of 144. carroll county getting hit hard this morning with fog so if you are in the areas reduce your speeds and be extra careful if you are heading out. and here's a live look at the beltway at wilkins avenue. traffic is starting to pick up here on the west side.

and you are looking at a 12- minute ride on the outer loop from 795 down towards 95. there are no problems on the beltway from parkville up to towson. and the northeast corridor of 95 that's in great shape. four minutes to travel from white marsh boulevard down to 695. and as lynette mentioned we are dealing with an accident in east boughtmore on westham way at eastern avenue. megan over to you. three minutes after 6. how are you supposed to feel secure when your child heads off to class. twice in two weeks students brought guns to baltimore county schools. and now they are promising to have new security measures and make it a priority in the district. abc2 news linda so is live and what can they do if anything to make the school safer and parents at least feel that way if their kid head-- kids head off to class. >> reporter: there will be several changes to security. you will see it here where the latest gun incident happened and other county middle and high schools.

first of all, county school resource officers will be given hand-held metal detectors to use if they feel like something is suspicious. also, they are going to increase the number of school resource officers at middle and high schools. these changes are all prompted by the recent gun incidents involving students bringing guns to schools. yesterday, here at stemers run middle, there was a middle school student who brought a loaded semiautomatic gun to school, waved it at a teacher and classmates before pointing it at himself. a teacher wrestle the gun awan and no one was hurt. there was a incident at perry hall high war student brought a rifeel to school and shot another student in the -- rifle to school and shot another student in the calf tier yeah. >> it's going to be hard, in my opinion, to see what is suspicious. kids could be walking in the school normally and have a gun in a book back how -- bag.

how do you know if they are suspicious. >> reporter: the superintendent of schools says they are going through a comprehensive study and through the study they will learn if more changes need to happen. live in essex, linda so, abc2 news. the shooting. >> per-- in peryea -- perry hall high school is another school we will talk about. but stemers run got the attention of parents across baltimore county. they turned out to wood lawn high school to hear what the county's new superintendent had to say about keeping the kids safe in the classroom. some parents want to know whether perthem the -- permanent metal detectors should be installed at school entrances. >> i am not ready to rule it out or say we are ready a jump in. what i will say is we need to take a deliberate appropriate and there have been systems in schools around country that installed them and it had incidents to occur. >> the superintendent says he is developing an office of safety and security and he will keep parents updated throughout

school. the principal there says that he was a strong student and he was interested in modeling and fashion. so far no arrests has been made but police are look for suspects. tomorrow the student charged in the shooting at perry hall high school will be in court. robert gladden junior has a bail review hearing and police say he brought a weapon to school and fired shots in the cafeteria last month. 17-year-old daniel borowy was hit by one of the bullets and he is at home now recovering. the o's will hang out with special kids before the game. and this is thanks to the casey care foundation. critically ill children and their families are going to have a break from the hospital and get to enjoy not only the park but also the team. afterwards, the o's will take on tampa bay. the first pitch is at 7:05 tonight. the o's are tied with the yankees in the al east and after winning last night's game they are in good standings. we will see what happens

pictures and step in now, it's wond earlful. i am so excited for the students and -- wonderful. i am so excitesed for the students and a -- excite for the students -- excited for the the students and the staff. we are here at thomas johnson elementary middle school. this is one of three unveilings that will happen today simultaneously. so very exciting. and this morning, we have a parent here beth who is joining us live. her daughter is in the 2ndgrade here. good morning thanks for being out here. what is going through your mind here with this library project and this new unveiling? what do you think for students and also your daughter? >> it's legally very excite are -- it's really very exciting because the kids are exposeed to-- exposed to technology and there are 4,000 books. and they have the support at school and home to make a difference in their education. >> reporter: what do you think about the wineberg foundation teaming with up community partners to make it happen for

the students what do you think about them having that. >> you can't ask for anything more. it's amaze and to hit three schools in the area really makes-- amazing and to hit three schools in the area really makes an impact. you don't have children going to school with a advantage over those. they have done so much to seek out the grants to make it a better place for our children. it's fantastic. >> reporter: anything in particular you are looking forward to for your daughter's education. >> now they have the e books and nooks for the children preloaded with books and some kids have exposure to that at home and some don't. so it levels the playing field because in this day and age you have to be current with expose them the better. u >> reporter: thanks for joining us. and good luck to your daughter and all the students. it's awesome. as you can see, folks are excited here. students, staff, parents, and everyone is very excited for the students and the learning that will take place in the libraries. the grand opening kicks off from 9 a.m.

system ios6. the new features include a coupon -- coupon and ael may unveil an update for the ipod touch but the operating system will no longer include youtube and the service yesterday introduced a new app for iphones and ipad the latest in the battle between apple and google which owns youtube. don't expect facebook to get in the middle of that with its smart phone. mark zuckerberg says a facebook phone doesn't make since because the network wants to be part of every major device out there. those are the tech bites, i am john muller.

charley baby watch 2012. that's because his daughter is expected to enter the world. you are looking at the outfit she will be sporting when she heads home. but right now charley and his wife are anxiously awaiting her arrival. they have been very quiet about name. but, we are excited because we can't wait and we know he has been looking forward to this day. i like the outfit lynette. you are a hat person and any time a baby goes home they have to have the head cover. >> exactly. >> so some of you are weighing in on facebook saying congratulations to charley and his wifelike jack who says here is to a happy healthy delivery. lcome little princess. and then danielle writing in saying precious be prepared for great things to come. feel free to leave a comment for charley and his wife by liking charley's fan page on facebook. i know appreciates the comments. >> so cute. >> it's a great wonderful thing. so i tell him enjoy it and if anybody offers anything free take it. >> yeah. >> all right weather is free? >> yes.

>> weather is gorgeous lately. >> that's my gift. that's my gift to them. >> you are wonderful. >> fabulous weather out there. it's a little chilly this morning. a little on the cool side. but we are going to warm up nicely as we go into the afternoon. we have the dry air fittering in across the area. satellite and radar not picking up on a whole lot and that's one of the reasons why temperatures are able to drop off. we look at them right now. look at ijamsville. 47 and we are at 54 in northville. elkton coming in at 51 this morning. galena more of the same. 54 in denton and annapolis at 56 this morning. and we look at the reason why. well, we have high pressure still at the surface. but this will begin to slide off toward the east and once it does that, you are going to get a clockwise flow around that and temperatures will warm up as we go into the afternoon. so we will be a little warmer as we go through the day. but, still seasonable levels. we are watching the cold front back off toward the west. and that is going to be a player in the game as we go

into the weekend. but we do have tropical storm nadine. the wind sustained at 45 miles an hour. and look at the curvature staying away from the u.s. and that's what we like. this is forecasted to become a category one hurricane. and as we go through time, and as we look at the forecast as we head throughout the day, we can see the lunchtime temperature coming in around 76 degrees. and we will warm things up. i am forecasting a high right around 81 degrees. so, that's where we should be now for this time of the year for the most part. the forecast for the game stellar. 76 we will be playing the tampa bay rays and winds sustained at about 7 -- 5 miles an hour out of the south. so that won't be impacting the game. but we do have some more nice weather moving in as we head into thursday and also friday. let's check the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren cook. good morning. patchy fog out there. >> reporter: good morning. yes, a lot of fog right now in carroll and frederick counties. here's interstate 70 just east of 144 and you will notice the reduced visibility. please be extra careful and we have a crash to tell you about

on 70. along westbound lanes at 695 you will want to expect delays and here's what the beltway looks like at old court road. traffic is starting to pick up here. and that will continue all the way down to 95. you will want to -- want to expect a 12 minute ride from 759 to 95. the fort mchenry tunnel is in great shape. 8 minutes to travel northbound from the beltway to the toll plaza and no concerns this morning on the jfx. just 11 minutes southbound from 695 all the way downtown to east fayette street. that's a look at your a. bc -- abc2 timesaver traffic. in the health alert chances are you have herd omega 3 fatty acids are good for your heart but a study says that may not be the case. >> what we know in clinical practices is patients are put on omega 3 fatty acids to help protect the heart. and this study kind of said that maybe that's not the best indication for treatment.

police security video captured this. a motorcyclist crashing into a utility pole in columbia. that's where they say that this man was driving so fast that he flew off his bike. when he was able to get up, he just walked away at the time. so he wasn't hurt too seriously. the bike caught on fire. most 8-year-old boys have a streak in them no doubt about it. but one boy we will introduce you to a curious side that could have land him in a lot of trouble -- landed him in a lot of trouble and hurt somebody. now his parents are keeping a closer eye on him. okay, what'ya havin?
